Tim Thomas fighting to save America.
I’m a huge hockey fan. More specifically, I am a Colorado Avalanche fan. Yet today I am rooting for Boston Bruin’s goalie Tim Thomas. Thomas is taking a great deal of heat for skipping the Stanley Cup winning teams visit to the White House to meet President Obama. President’s have been snubbed by pro athlete’s in the past but normally the athlete has some sort of excuse such as “I couldn’t rearrange my schedule to make the visit.” or “Unfortunately my off-season rehabilitation conflicted with the visit.”.
Sometimes you can read between the lines and speculate that there may have been more at play than a scheduling conflict. Yet when Boston Bruins goalie Tim Thomas refused his visit he didn’t hide behind any excuses. Thomas wrote on his Facebook wall…
I believe the Federal government has grown out of control, threatening the Rights, Liberties, and Property of the People.
This is being done at the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial level. This is in direct opposition to the Constitution and the Founding Fathers vision for the Federal government.
Because I believe this, today I exercised my right as a Free Citizen, and did not visit the White House. This was not about politics or party, as in my opinion both parties are responsible for the situation we are in as a country. This was about a choice I had to make as an INDIVIDUAL.
This is the only public statement I will be making on this topic. TT”
Thomas is a brave soul. We all know how toxic a public figure can become if they dare speak out against a liberal President. I applaud Tim Thomas for making such a stand and I also applaud him for carefully wording his reasoning including the phrase… “in my opinion both parties are responsible for the situation we are in”, because it’s true that while Obama may be the most liberal of all in government, it’s liberal policies in general that have put us in the place we are today. Well said Tim.
In ice hockey it’s the goalies job to save pucks from going in the net, Tim Thomas is taking that one step further and doing his part to save this country. Hopefully in some small way Tim Thomas’s save percentage will rise a little bit today.
